Springtime!

I love my children dearly, but I was never meant to be a SAHM *stay at home mom. I know many people will disagree, but I think it is only natural and healthy for both parent and child to have a "getaway." School, work, and other social activities help our family go round and these activities prevent us from stepping on top of each other.

I became a SAHM again this Winter right before Lucas was born. And let me tell you, Winter is 1. no time to have a baby and 2. no time to become a full-time SAHM when you are used to working! This Winter has been incredibly and unusually harsh. Holland has seen more snow this winter than in the past 30 years, and I have had enough of being trapped inside our house!

Thankfully Spring has started to show itself and it has allowed us to get out of the house and do fun things like visit the kinderboerderij *petting zoo, go for walks, ride bikes, and maybe tomorrow Max will even venture out on his roller blades for the first time!

This week Max and I took advantage of the warm weather, got the sidewalk chalk out of the shed, and decorated our front walkway. Apparently it is quite strange to do this in the front yard, as we got several odd looks from the Dutchies walking by. Nevertheless we had a great time! Here are a few pictures of our my imaginative drawings.

Max even got to go fishing!

Learning to hopscotch! (it was awesome to look out the kitchen window and see how many people that were walking by actually hopscotched themselves!)

Though he can't quite hop on 1 foot yet, he is really good at hopscotching on 2 feet!
